What does B10 Life mean?   back to top
B10 life is expressed in total revolutions or inches of travel a system will operate under a rated load. 90% of all systems operated at this rated load will meet or exceed this rating. Although 10% may not reach a million inches, 50% could exceed 5 million inches.

Life under load (B10 life) is predictable; severe load applications can generally be compensated for by providing additional capacity. See our Glossary Page for other related definitions.

I need help choosing an actuator, what should I do?   back to top
If you need assistance choosing and actuator you can either Contact us or locate a Distributor in your area. Upon doing that, it will be helpful to have the following information:
  • A brief description of the application
  • Weight of the load (Vertical or Horizontal application)
  • Will the load be supported? If so, a description of the support (rails with bearings, ways)
  • Stroke (travel) length
  • Cycle time, cycles per minute, number of shifts per day, days per year of operation
  • Life expectancy of the actuator
  • Description of the environment of actuator operation (wash down, clean room, vacuum, outdoors, etc.)
  • If you are replacing a hydraulic cylinder with electro mechanical, we would require is the diameter of the bore, the pressure at which the hydraulic actuator stalls. All the other considerations would be the same as above.
