Chocolate Chip Industrial Candy Making

In an industrial candy making setting, a 15,000 pound thrust E•DRIVE ball screw linear actuator/electric cylinder is used to “pump” chocolate through a large die cavity producing thousands of chocolate chips which are deposited on a moving conveyor. A second linear actuator/electric cylinder is used to accelerate the entire die assembly to synchronize speed with the conveyor and position the die to prevent any empty conveyor space.
