Graph 2: To determine the maximum piston deflection enter the graph at the extension length. Intersect the corresponding frame size and determine the deflection factor. Using the equation below, calculate the piston deflection. If the deflection is too high for the application, a larger frame size should be selected.

Maximum Piston Deflection =Payload x DF
                                                         1000

Example:
Payload: 60lb
Maximum Allowable Deflection = .032 in
Length: 14in
Enter the graph with extension length and intersect frame size SL3. The deflection factor (DF) is 0.35. Using the formula above, the maximum piston deflection is 0.021 in.
